Sunday 26th April - Fleetwood Channel

Third match of the season was upon us and at last sunshine! Although it was accompanied by a cold breeze but much better than the rain and gales of the last match.

The match was fished 9.00 till 12:00, 3 hours down to low water.

Fish were caught throughout the match, with the better catches of flounder coming from the sand opposite where the old pier used to be.

The surprise was the variety of species caught with anglers landing Codling to 48cm, Whiting, Plaice and Flounders. Majority of fish were caught on fresh peeler crab.

2nd Match Lytham 12th April 2015

The second match of the year rolled round and instead of just throwing rain at us this timnd the weather gods decided to throw in strong winds as well!!

Match was fished 3 hours down to low water 9:00 till 12:00, one hook rule still applying.

With the inclement weather only 13 anglers turned out.

Conditions from the start was heavy rain and winds not making for the most comfortable fishing.

 Even with the weather conditions fish started to appear from the start but overall fishing was slow with only the odd flounder showing up and down the beach.

About 10:30 rain stopped but wind increased to gale, however fishing also improved with fish coming back on the feed.

Overall best baits was peeler crab (with some anglers tipping with strips of bluey).
